
![]() CAROL MEETZE-MOATES - Painter, watercolors,oils and calligrapher Carol grew up in Randleman and began her art interests in high school there. Continuing studies were at Greensboro College, UNC-G, and commercial art at GTCC. She worked professionally from 1978 to 1999 as Visual Arts Director with City Arts, City of Greensboro at the Cultural Center, 200 N. Davie Street. During her career as Art Director, she had the opportunity to study with many regional and international art instructors such as Skip Lawrence, Christopher Schink, Stephen Quiller, Daniel Greene, Arne Westerman, Ann Templeton, Carol Barnes, Al Stein, Anita West and Albert Handel, Judy Wagner, Peter Thornton (calligrapher), John Lines, and Chuck Mclachlan. Having the opportunity to learn exciting new approaches to art technique and philosophy has been a rich experience. She is a member and served on the board of the Greensboro Artist League, also a board member of the Greensboro Library Arts Commission, the Watercolor Society of North Carolina, the Associated Artists of Winston-Salem, and Carolina Lettering Arts Society. Carol's work is in private and corporate collections, and has been accepted in several national juried shows winning occasional awards. She is presently teaching classes in Calligraphy and Watercolor at the TwoArt Chicks gallery. She shares a studio space with Judy Meyler at the 2AC gallery. Carol lives in Julian, NC with her husband Bob. |
